The grapes flowered a little later this year and need some sunshine
and heat. The last trip through the vineyard showed a lot of
clusters and some of the grapes are now the size of peas and growing
fast with the good moisture and warm temperatures. I have been busy
this week spraying the rows for weeds. I use a product called Rely,
which is a burn down chemical and it doesn't hurt the vines, only the
weeds.
This past week we have been busy with groups that we provided food
and wine dinners and on the 4th of July we had our annual Hot Dogs and
Wine. We have more groups coming so if you want to schedule a party
it's best to book as soon as possible.
The Red Trail Winter Wine (Ice Wine) will be ready to bottle next
week and we will soon have it at the Tasting Room, the supply is limited
again this year, so if you want to reserve a bottle, let me know
asap.
And remember to mark August 20th on your calender to attend the 6th
Annual North Dakota Grape Harvest Festival / Grape Stomp.
